I see this blog as a place to put forward my view as part of the wider conversation about brands and communications. It covers three main themes: Practical, Brand Debate and Trends.
“Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.”
Winston Churchill
Trends: I want this section to be a record of times when I stop, reflect and then continue on. These posts will not necessarily have a clear narrative, or specific point, but will clarify (in my mind) a cultural nuance or emerging trend. There will be a lot of spurious assertions – the more the better I think. This section is for me, and I hope, for you.
“However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.”
Winston Churchill
Brand Debate: This theme is about cutting the jargon and getting to simpler definitions for the profession. I think it as important that brands are seen for what they are: powerful tools to develop business, but we need clarity on their strengths and weaknesses. This is an area that I hope will spark debate.
“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”
Winston Churchill
Practical: OK, OK, I’ve got a thing for Churchill quotes. But everything is constantly changing. Here I’ll share my secrets, and ask others to share theirs too, so we can all strive to improve and perhaps be perfect.
